Places to see and things to
do in the Waikato.

the Hamilton Gardens
where river walks lead you to a number of cafes in Victoria St together
with the Waikato Museum of Art and History.
The Waipa Delta paddle steamer
cruises up and down the river serving morning and afternoon teas as well
as lunches
and dinners. Hamilton has its own Zoo and Free Flight Sanctuary.
The annual Hot Air balloon
Festival is in April every year.
The Clydesdale Museum at Mystery
Creek features farm equipment from a bygone era.
Mystery Creek hosts the National
Agricultural Field Days every June, the biggest in the southern hemisphere.
Within a 45 minute drive are
hot mineral pools at Te Aroha, Matamata and Waingaro.
Antique shops abound in Cambridge
and Tirau.
Lake Karapiro has speed boat
racing plus National Rowing competitions throughout the summer.
There is a huge private collection
of sporting memorabilia with a large garden that is open to the public
and a
Military Museum 5 minutes away.
We can arrange tours to some
of the best horse studs in the country.
Golf courses abound in this
part of the country and there are 12 within half an hours drive from here.
